Ironclad Roofing Co. — Asheville, NC — Est. 2001
Every roof starts as a drawing before it becomes a promise.
We spec, tear off, and stand behind residential and commercial roofs across the Blue Ridge foothills — from a torn shingle on a Montford bungalow to a full standing-seam re-roof on Reynolds Mountain. Written scope before any nail moves.
Fig. 01 — Our Approach
We tear off before we talk price.
Most estimates in this trade are written from the driveway. Ours are written from the deck — after the old roofing is stripped back far enough to see what's actually underneath, photographed, and logged against the scope we handed you in writing.
That order of operations is slower on paper. In practice it means the number on your invoice is the number we quoted, decking damage is priced per sheet with a photo attached, and nothing gets "discovered" halfway through a Friday install.
Fig. 02 — Material Tiers
Three specifications. One crew and warranty behind all of them.
Every tier below ships with the same install crew and workmanship guarantee — what changes is wind rating, impact class, and how long the material itself is warrantied.

They pulled up the old felt and showed us the rot before they showed us a price.
Fig. 03 — Selected Work
Case studies, not a photo gallery.
A sample of jobs across the past two seasons — the material, the neighborhood, and the one detail that made the job what it was.
Montford Craftsman Re-Roof
A 1923 bungalow with an original diamond-cut cedar profile at the street-facing gable. We drafted a matching cut pattern in laminate before ordering material, and preserved the original dentil trim at the eaves rather than boxing over it.
Kenilworth Hail Claim
Met the adjuster on-site the same week as the storm; claim approved with no supplement fight.
Biltmore Forest Standing Seam
24-ga standing seam spec'd for a 12/12 pitch and heavy mountain snow load.
Haw Creek Emergency Tarp
Tree limb through the decking during a June storm — tarped within six hours of the call, full repair closed out inside two weeks.
West Asheville Brewery Roof
TPO membrane over an occupied rooftop taproom — phased install, zero service downtime.
Reynolds Mountain
Permanent harness anchors set into the framing for every future service call on the 12/12 pitch.
Fig. 04 — Sequence of Work
Five steps, in this order, every time.
Site survey & drone scan
Full elevation photos, a decking moisture check from the attic side, and a drawn scope of work before we talk numbers.
Written spec & material order
Shingle or panel line, underlayment brand, flashing metal, fastener spec — itemized and signed before the crew is scheduled.
Tear-off & decking repair
Old roofing stripped to bare deck. Rotted sheathing is replaced per sheet, at a photographed rate, not a flat surprise fee.
Install, flashing & ventilation
Full crew sets field, valleys, step flashing at every wall, and ridge ventilation to the manufacturer's spec.
Final walkthrough & closeout binder
Joint walkthrough, a magnet-roller sweep of the yard, and a binder with warranty paperwork and job photos handed over.
Four different roofers looked at that valley leak. Ironclad was the only one who found the actual cause.
Fig. 05 — Warranty & Terms
Nothing on the estimate is a guess.
Every proposal lists the exact shingle or panel line, underlayment brand, and fastener spec we're installing. If you file an insurance claim, the same document goes to your adjuster — no separate "insurance version."
Financing is available for both storm claims and out-of-pocket replacements, and decking is always billed per sheet with a photo of the damage attached to your invoice.
Fig. 06 — Service Area
Four crews, dispatched by zone.
Storm damage doesn't wait for one crew to work down a list. We run four install crews so claims and repairs move fast after a bad system comes through.
Fig. 07 — The Crew Roster
The people on your roof, not a subcontractor's.
Explained the whole insurance process before we ever picked a shingle. Zero surprises on the invoice.
